For a while, we had as our outgoing message on our answering machine "Hello, please leave a message for S, B, L, H and P, where each person (except B) said their name in their own voice. One time, when P was listening to it, she said, "I should have said or!" She was really upset by this, almost to the point of crying. Aside from thinking it was cute for her to be concerned about something like that, I was also impressed that a 5 year-old would 1) notice something like that and 2) actually care about it. Of course this is a 5 yo who started to read when she was 3, so perhaps it is not all that surprising...
